Be. Do. Have. Why Kingdom Thinking Shifts Everything

pam perry

Twenty-five years ago, I stepped out in faith and launched Ministry Marketing Solutions. It wasn’t just a business idea—it was a divine assignment. God told me to take my background in media and PR and use it to empower the Kingdom to market the message.

Back then, many ministries, authors, and thought leaders had powerful messages but no microphone. They didn’t know how to get their voices heard in the media. My assignment was clear: blaze a trail where few had gone, combining my skills with God’s purpose. It took courage, but when you know you’re walking in alignment with your calling, you move forward—even when others don’t understand.

Fast forward to today, that same assignment has evolved into Speak Sell Shine—a movement equipping speakers, authors, and entrepreneurs to elevate their message, expand their influence, and steward their platforms with excellence.

The Be-Do-Have Shift

So many people think, “Once I have the money, the platform, or the recognition—then I’ll do what I’m called to do, and finally be who I’m meant to be.” But that’s backwards.

Myron Golden’s Be-Do-Have sequence (rooted in Kingdom theology) flips the script:

When you realize you’re made in God’s image as a creator, not just a consumer, everything changes. Provision flows from purpose. Finances become a byproduct of stewardship, not the goal itself.

Lessons to Take Forward

Here are six power principles that guide my journey—and can guide yours too:

  1. Stop grind-thinking. Money doesn’t live in endless hustle; it multiplies in alignment and focus.

  2. Build transformation, not just awareness. Awareness gets attention, but transformation changes lives.

  3. Replace dead ends with open doors. Stop saying “too expensive.” Start asking, “How can I afford it?” That one shift opens possibilities.

  4. Focus with the 80/20 rule. The Pareto Principle says 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts. The same is true in business—80% of your revenue often comes from your best 20% of clients. So stop spreading yourself thin. Identify what works and double down on that instead of chasing every opportunity.

  5. Rise above the crowd. The bottom is crowded. The top is uncrowded. Blaze your trail instead of following the herd.

  6. Count the cost of inaction. Waiting, delaying, or shrinking back costs more than visible risks ever will.

The Right Circle Matters

Purpose requires courage—but it also requires the right circle. You cannot fully step into your assignment while surrounded by clout chasers—those who want your connections, influence, or freebies, but don’t respect the assignment on your life.

Your circle should sharpen you, not siphon you. That’s why my success circle includes mentors, lawyers, bankers, and other professionals who pour wisdom, accountability, and resources into me. The wrong circle drains. The right one multiplies your impact.
