Don’t Believe the Hype, Look at the History

Remember the story of the Tortoise and Hare?  The Hare was so confident and cocky to a fault…so much so that the Tortoise beat him in the race! Slow and steady wins the race; not all the hype and hoopla.

In the era of the internet too much emphasis is on what is “trending” or what is “viral” or what is visually cute, clever and convincing.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I love creative content marketing.
But false claims and “over promising” online has to go!  OMG! The loser is more than the hare who is bragging but the customer who put their trust in the claims of that “hare.”

I remember seeing people claiming to be “social media experts” and they had just got on most of the platforms and didn’t have a clue on what they were doing. They were just chasing dollars.  I saw people helping other people become “best selling authors” and their books were ranking on the bottom on Amazon. But the funniest thing was seeing people putting together LIVE seminars on how to become “six figure sisters” and they were using free websites like WIX and Weebly. Right. How “six-figure” is that when you can’t even afford your own website?

But it’s takes more than just graphics, a slick video and a great sales copy to really sustain in this business of entrepreneurship – especially online. I think people are smart enough to know who is “legit” and who is just needs to quit!

I’ve been in my “calling” of this career for more than two decades. I love what I do and I have a lifestyle that I love.  But more than that, I get to share my gifts, passion and knowledge that makes a difference in the lives of others.  Don’t take my word for it. Here are two “unsolicited” comments I got just the other day from those who witnessed “my magic” when it comes to defining brand position, building platforms, promotion and social media creativity.

Everything she ever taught me from social media to how to approach various kinds of personalities for business has never been wrong. She is a master at understanding social climates and trends. The relationships she has guided me to leverage have garnered me paying clients that I have to this day. Bottom line, Pam Perry’s principles puts money in my pockets to this day and I am eternally grateful.”

“Pam I can quote you. I do quote you. You’re in my head all the time.  Your stuff works. I’ve listened to you, watched you online for more than 13 years. You said the main thing is to be consistent – and you are!  You’ve taught me to be the same. I knew you online before I met you in person – and you’re the same. Giving, smart and talented at what you do.”
