Patti Webster, Superstar Publicist, gone too soon

Patti Webster had the “who’s who” of celebrity clients including Mary Mary, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Usher, Janet Jackson, Chris Paul and Alicia Keys, died, Friday, September 13. She was only 49.

Wow. I’m shocked. Stunned. I found out from a mutual colleague in the business that our PR sister has gone on to glory.

Patti Webster, according to reports, had brain cancer. She passed in the hospital.

She founded her firm, W&W PR in 1991. She represented celebrities in almost every field, including Halle Berry, Dwight Howard and Steve Harvey and organizations including Creflo Dollar Ministries and HollyRod Foundation.

Magic Johnson was among those who tweeted condolences, calling her a “sensational publicist.”

Patti was also an ordained minister and author. She wrote “It Happened in Church: Stories of Humor From the Pulpit to the Pews.”  She grew up a PK (preacher’s kid) and loved to laugh.

Here’s an interview I did with her about four years ago. I’ll miss you Patti. You were an inspiration.  You’re shinning forever in my heart.

This is a song dedicated to Patti by Alicia Keys, a former client of hers.  When it’s all over – we know Patti is in a better place and she loved.

Rest in Peace Patti Webster. Love you and thank you for sharing your gift with us. YOU are a Superstar. Shine on…
